چکیده
In order to improve the sensitivity of proteomic analysis, our group has developed a chicken antibody based column that has successfully depleted high abundance proteins (HAPs) from human plasma prior to mass spectrometry analysis. The use of chicken as a host for polyclonal antibodies production conveys many advantages, including but not limited to, the capabilities of producing large quantities of IgY antibodies with minimal antigen quantities and enhanced immunogenicity exhibited by their immune systems against foreign immunogens. In this study, we explored the ability to use an anti-human IgY affinity column with a variety of plasma samples derived from different animals and demonstrate this column’s ability to deplete the two most common HAPs (albumin and immunoglobulins) reproducibly in phylogenetically related species. Hence, our study highly recommends that IgY-based immune depletion technologies could be used to capture targeted proteins among phylogenetically related species without having to produce separate columns for each clade. *Corresponding author: Mark S. Stable Down-Regulation of HLA Class-I by Serum Starvation in Human PBMCs
Background: The human leukocyte antigen (HLA) matching between organ donor and recipient is an acceptable strategy in clinical transplantation since 1964. However, in bone marrow transplantation, finding matched donors is often problematic. Thus new method for down regulation of HLA can be an alternative strategy to solve this problem. Objective: To examine the effect of serum starvation on HLA...

Background: Although a simple and direct method does not exist for the detection of chlamydial infections, there are situations in which reliable serological tests, with sensi-tivity related to a specific antigen, could be helpful. Objective: The aim of this study was to clone the first 1100 bp of the C. trachomatis outer membrane protein 2 (omp2) gene in order to prepare a recombinant protein ...

Background: Allergic rhinitis (AR) is an allergic disorder of the nasal tissue that underlies diseases such as sinusitis, otits and asthma. Different predisposing factors including immunological and non-immunological factors contribute to the disease pathogenesis. Objective: To investigate association of haptoglobin (Hp) phenotypes (Hp1-1, 2-1 and 2-2) with serum immunoglobulins A and E levels ...

Chlamydia trachomatis is one of the main causes of Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) such as prostatitis and epididymitis in men and cervicitis, endometriosis, vaginitis and ureogenital tract infections in women. Serological tests with sensitivities related to specific antigens are commonly used as routine laboratory tests for diagnosis of Chlamydia. In this research the Chlamydia Major O...
